Since the last thread was lost:
Time for the 5th Annual NorthEast Capri Gathering!
On September 28th, 2013 10:30AM We'll be meeting at the I-80 PA Welcome Center in Delaware Water Gap and proceeding from our cruise from there.
This year we will have bagels & fixings in addition to coffee & donuts. We'll have lively discussion in the AM, then depart for our cruise with many spots for photo-ops along the way. I believe our cruise will again take us to High Point, New Jersey. We will stop for lunch along the way. Again this is a casual meet/cruise just bring yourself and your car!
-
Matt, we'll be with you in thought. Unfortunately we have another commitment on the 28th as I am on the board of directors of another group (non-capri) and we have a meeting the last Saturday of September every year.
Hope you all have fun.
Kerry

Hi all, I may sound excited about going to this years meet [the last two were great fun] because other than pictures this will be the unveiling of my 93 na with 91 & 94 parts didn't have any 92 parts. Its getting inspected now just hope the straight threw racing cat work for emission's , if it don't pass still bringing it she won't be the first car at the north east meet that didn't have a legal sticker [Russ] LOL. Now to get Diane's xr2 ready. Later John

Kerry sorry to hear you won't make it I know you have your other hobbies that usually take place this weekend. Maybe we can meet up for a lunch or something another time before it gets too cold?
Sounds good John! I will have an NA VAF adapter ready for you when you get here!
-
Only a few short days away !! :D I'm getting excited, there will be a lot of Capris there this year!
-
To all, Less than 22hrs before Diane an I take off for the meet can't wait!!! John
-
My wife and i will be there first thing Saturday morning...Wish we could stay the night and participate in the shenanigans Saturday night, but alas, it is not to be... :'(
-
We are scheduled to leave around 11 tonight....getting excited, as well!!
-
Wish I could be there. I recently purchased a nice red 91 XR2 but sold it back (long story). Now I am trying to resurrect my original 91 XR2 that has been sitting for 5 years (good luck with that). :) We were the white XR2 at the all Ford show in WV (9-25-2005) if anyone was there.
I believe the black car in the middle is Russ/CapriTypeR

John I vaguely recall hearing about the WV meet... that was when I was still very young in my Capri ownership. We'll make sure to take lots of pictures!
Have you started a new thread about your resurrection? The red Capri I am driving now has not seen the road for almost a decade as best I can determine, the last inspection sticker on it expired in 2004 from NJ (which was good for 2 years back then, IIRC) It's been a hell of an adventure for sure. A deep, deep pit for my time, spare parts and money :D
-
Matt,
Well my daughters car will be there this year....wait....she doesn't own it anymore...Brittany does...its the white and purple one. I went home during lunch today to back it out of the garage and i took if for a final spin around the block. They are picking it up right about now. :( I will be leaving tonight right after work. I am staying at the Days Inn on Seven Bridge Rd. :)

Hey Matt & Everybody -- Thanks for a great time! Great weather, people, cars, and scenery and plenty of twisty back roads our cars were made for --sort of. 'Hope you all closed down some bar after I left

Yeah, I almost found myself in a street race!! LOLOLOL It was a great time!
-
Tony , I wasn't worried I heard what the guy said he could talk the talk but was afraid to walk the walk. Plus you had fun with the "short" talk you had with him, LOL take care; John
-
Didn't think that guy was ever gonna shut up!! LOL
That was just an epic Capri gathering...Anyone that couldn't make it, you HAVE to try to get there next year!
-
Agreed!
BTW I *think* I finally fixed my stumbling/cutting out issue. The fuel filter was pretty clogged so I threw another one on there, some improvement overall but no drastic changes. Still would cut out around corners.
So today I changed out the spark plugs for some random used ones I had, and checked the cap/rotor. Old plugs looked okay, decent tan color. I cleaned the crud off the contacts in the cap and noticed the spring contact on the rotor was not touching the button on the cap... may have been causing a real weak spark? I'm not sure. I bent it so it was making contact.
So far so good today, been running around with around 1/2 tank of gas which I could never do before. So, weird issue, weirder fix? Who knows, it just needs to keep running right :)
-
I don't bother to wonder about those kind of "fixes" any more!! LOL Like you said, as long as it stays running!
