Yea it doesnt have any rust and i had to fix a big dent in the fender, i wish it was a 5speed though, but the automatic is nice.

apparently every Capri in the world has a design flaw that let's this happen

Yea i got real lucky, i checked it again underneath and its perfect, there is no rust at all.
-
i got a AZ car..LOL
-
Is anyone here form TN or close by, i need a donor car i can get cheap, i want to convert mine to a 5 speed.
-
Wow, wish I was closer. I want to convert MINE to an automatic. Is it harder than just hooking up a new transmission and shift system? I noticed mine has a manual shift warning light, when obviously that is unapplicable seems its a 5-speed. Seems reasonable to me that everything should be able to hook right in once all the parts are transferred. IDK though, never done that. No clue if the ECU and other sensors would need to be swapped or not.

I was wondering about the ECU my self,i done a search on it , but couldnt find anything.
-
Auto to 5 speed....no need to change the ECU normally
i never seen anyone go the other way but i think u need the auto ECU
here in AZ there are a few NA cars selling for like 3-400
-
Hey Gost! I believe the ECU is different. As usual, Rocket knows for sure. I believe the ECU works with a separate Tranny ECU and controls the shifting that way. Gus
-
Do they Automatics hold up well?
-
that why i said from auto to 5 speed..no swap of computer needed
if you go the other way..u need the computer
nissan guys do it all the time...

Hi guys, i just put tags and insurance on my capri today and drove it all day, and it was awesome, im kinda getting used to the auto transmission, do these automatics hold up well?
-
My girl friend has the automatic, my opinion is that the automatics are a little on the fragile side the tranny that came originally in her car was switched out by me because it would not hold fluid. it was running out of the axle seals on both sides. found out later that the differential part of the tranny was loosened up which allowed the axles to wobble around enough while driving to let the fluid get by the seals. i think the person who had this car before us was doing neutral drops or burn outs who knows in any case the tranny got switched out with a used one and it also leaks fluid however nothing like the one we removed. the cruise control is little less effective with the automatic, seems like on the slightest incline while highway driving, it constantly shifts into passing gear to make up for the drop in rpm's going up hill.It is nice not to shift gears all the time, so u take the bad with the good. She likes it and thats all that matters

Its always nice to cruise it when u get it................better than Sexxxxx (http://forum.pocketables.net/picture.php?albumid=13&pictureid=27)
