On Monday I will be taking out the AC, my goal is to take out as much of it as i can, but I don't plan on taking out the bits that are in the dash because I am not sure if I will have time to get all of that out. If anyone is interested in certain parts of the AC I would be willing to give them to you if you could either pick them or if you payed for shipping, the ac was functioning but it needed to be recharged with r12 so to convert it for me just was not with it. I also have a brand new oiled compressor that I was gonna use but I wont so just reach out if anyone is interested. I also ordered a HKS blow off value so that exciting.

How much for the sealed (new) compressor? What brand is it? Don't need one, but interested.

It has been way to long. I have been able to do a bit of work on my car, but moving into college and settling in takes its time. I start off with, I FINALLY ABLE TO BUY A HARD TOP!!! I have been waiting to get one for a very long time so I was very happy about that! I removed the liner on the inside and am redoing it with a new fabric because it was sagging a lot and the old foam was in terrible condition.  So I have new fabric coming. Along with that I have black wrap to wrap the top and it should look really good when I have a day to do it! Driving out to college with no AC was rough so I had the windows down the whole time and well the music all the way up. 9 hours later I blew 3 of the 4 speakers, oops, but 90s speakers aren't the best anyway. So I found all 4 speakers on amazon and they are in the mail, I got 4 JBL speakers that seam really nice. along with that I got a 12in sub that is going to go where the soft top used to be. Should sound really good. My head unit has a built in plug for the sub and I am considering getting an amp in the future but I am also nervous about the power pull on the battery and the alternator. Has anyone looked into running a separate battery off the original on for a source to run the amp off without pulling directly from the cars main source. Also has anyone look for an alternator that has a higher power, like one made for a miata that might work, i understand i might have to get a new battery or run new wires but I might look into it. So good to be back and posting caint wait to here what yall think.

You probably won't find a higher amperage alternator; there were two that came on the Capri and the bigger one is mostly gone from stock...as are the parts to rebuild it. That being said, I didn't run into issues back in my car audio days until I was running more than 500w RMS. If you use a second small car battery as a capacitor, you should be fine to run more than enough amp to hurt yourself  ;D I have a pair of 10" subs in a ported box with a matched mono amp (its small, maybe 250w), as well as a really nice double DIN touch screen/bluetooth/GPS stereo...it's all just sitting in my closet if you're interested.

How was replacing the headliner in the hard top? That's on my todo list

It wasn't to bad, I pulled the headliner and it was sagging so I took off the original carpet and under was rotted 90s foam, however i wanted to save the cardboard that was the correct shape and stuff, so I took a firm brush and scrubbed the whole thing and it came off prefect, it was a little trick I found on line, After that the firm cardboard let has some rips in it so i took tap and covered the side that will be on the ceiling, this really helps firm up the shape a lot. I ordered a new carpet for the top from the company Texas Foam and Fabric and it is about an 8th inch thick foam with a darker grey carpet than the original, should look really good and its very high quality. Ill Post some pictures of it when i Finnish it, trying to keep on top of my mechanical engineering degree can be hard tho.

Are the speaker boxes that you have custom to the car and go somewhere or did you just have them in the trunk?
