Title: Another Bushing Question
Post by: DashingDaryl on June 07, 2010, 07:03:00 AM
My Capri makes that "Classic Clunk" that people in the suspension forum talk about. You know, the one where you apply the breaks and hear a CLUNK from the passenger side.

According to the Forum, it is the front bushings on the "A" arm (Or the lack thereof)

Is this still the current train of thought?

If so, Any idea where we/I can get some? Are the the same as the 323/Protege/etc? All the links for replacement bushings are out of date.

I did a board search and this is what I think is  The Problem (http://teamcapri.com/capri-gi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=000019).

I did a web search and I think this is the solution. We need a
 #5 (http://www.partswebsite.com/autopartspeople/index.php?i=2&model=1550&make=136&year=1988§ion=19&catid=10023&type=parts&subcatid=20090&item_collision=0&items=none&image=F690090&catid=10023)

Pedders makes a high performance urethane bushing kit that fits the front LCA's, im not sure where to get them anymore as I ordered mine from Corksport and they no longer support our chassis.

But I'd say this will probably fix the clunk. Read my caution and tips in the old thread there.

That they do. THANKS!

Quick question. They have three listings for 323 Bushings, but only one of them has a year.

Is this the right bushing?

It is interesting they are the same price as an OEM one. Any opinion if these are easier to install since they are split, or any other feedback?

Not sure if those are correct. When I get home later I'll dig up some part #'s and talk about the install.
