Well, trying to find wheels (that I like) for this car sucks -- unless you want to wait 2-3 months for something (Rota Boost) to be shipped over here. Anyway, for now, I've decided on the Silver Konig Feather in 16x7 +40, (and even they're a month out!)
According to the Miata Tire Calculator, a 215/40-16 is the best size match for the stock tire diameter. Has anyone successfully run this tire size? I searched, but didn't notice that size anywhere. There appears to be plenty of clearance in the front, but I'm concerned about the rear strut tube. I am putting H&Rs and new Tokico struts on, and I also ordered camber kits that should allow me to move the top of the tire away from the strut in the rear. Has anyone done this to correct strut/tire interference? Is there enough adjustment room for camber change with an H&R-lowered car without messing up tire wear and/or handling? Does anyone know what the camber change in the front or rear is with the H&Rs? Will the tire be too close to the fender lip in the front or rear?
Thanks! (http://smile.gif)

Hey Marty! I'll send my reply but I don't have those sizes. I have 195-55-15 all around with H&R's. I probably could go to 205's. Did not need the camber bolts to align on 4 wheel alignment. The looks are excellent with proper wheelwell filling and problems with tires hitting during fast canyon driving. Gus

If you havent gotten wheels yet. I'm running 205/40/17s on my car and they only throw the speed off by a little. at 60mph on the speedo im actually going abotu 62-62.5mph

I have 205/40R-16's

Thanks for the replies everyone! I ended up getting Yokohama S.Drive tires in 205/45-16. These appear to be within ~1.5% Rev/Mile of the current tires that are on the car (Toyo Proxes 4 in 195/50-15). The 205/40-16 size was ~1.6% Rev/Mile, but I chose the 45 series as it should help fill up the wheel wells a little bit more. Looking at the gap with the bald tires that are on there now, it could definitely use some filling!
Surprisingly, the wheels came in a couple of days ago (I was still expecting 2-3 weeks) and I still hadn't decided on tires. Tires have now been ordered and will hopefully arrive this Friday. I'll post pics when they're on, and again when I've got the H&Rs, struts, etc. installed (still waiting for strut bearings).

The S-Drive tires are great. I have 195/55/15's on my XR2. They handle excellent in wet weather, have plenty of grip, and are not loud like the AVS ES100's (which they discontinued :( )
I'm afraid they are a little close to rubbing with my wheels, even with the extra offset offered by the galant brake upgrade. I should have gone with a slightly lower profile.

That's good to hear about the S.Drives. I had the ES100s on my Contour and they worked well -- even at track days. (http://smile.gif)
I got the front springs/struts installed tonight, along with new strut bushings. I'm going to try and get the rears installed tomorrow. I don't know if the struts are stiffer than the ones I took off or not. I did a test drive tonight, and am still not sure. Maybe it will be more noticeable with the rears installed too. It seems to sit a little lower so far, and I'm guessing it will probably settle a little more.
The tires didn't make it in on Friday -- hopefully Monday.
