so my 91 capri n/a is ill it started yesterday when i went to sonic for a slush on the way home i notice a bit of hesitation then right before a stop light i notice that it instantly was losing power i tried to step on the gas but instead of going fast it just kept going slower. kind of like when its empty on gas but with out the bang from the exhaust. since i had the A/C on i check the temp and it was a lil above normal nothing to be alarmed of even though it almost hit 120 degrees so there i was right at o'reilly auto parts i tried to crank it with no luck on turning on i let it cool down a bit and then it turn back on i got back home as fast as i could and as soon as i was parking it did it again so that was the end of the day for me.the next morning i was thinking that it could of been the fuel pump so i went ahead and changed it for a new one since it was still under warranty. i tried to turned it on and it did for about 15min. then it died again with rough idling until it turn off with no luck turning back on. if i leave it resting for like 5 to 10 mins. it will turn on again but will not last and turn back off again or not turn on at all. at my knowledge i would say its some sensor gone bad. do you guys think that it could be the mass air flow sensor?? i had a lowe's custom pvc intake (yeah im poor)with the sensor going down had it like that for like 3 mths now. could that have damage the sensor in any way??

i have check the fuel, spark, compression. for any leaks on the intake and found everything ok.
 
i have also jumped to ground the green connector to see if it brings up any codes but none.

i dont think its the timing since it will turn on acting up like normal then it goes dead like a capri that would know how to play dead but once dead it stays dead lol...ok bad jk

any ideas rocket...russ someone plzzzz help

thats the one to the left of the intake manifold right. that passes coolant through the throttle body

i did hear it work yesterday with the key on im going to have to disconnect a hose to see is its actually flowing water

ok well i checked it and if its only suppose to pump water when the car is running then it does work

any other ideas

Maybe the fuel pump is failing & when it warms up it fails to produce enough flow?

Jamie, he said in his first post he already changed out the fuel pump.

Is your VAF level? If it not, gravity will act on the door & cause it to misread, perhaps it's causing your engine to run far too rich & stall out, and flooding or fouling plugs. Do you have a pic of the intake? Try revising it so the the VAF sits level.

Also, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

yeah changed it already.

thank you all for your post
so yesterday i decided to ground the STI connector again to see if it would give my any codes and this time it did it gave me codes 01 and 08.
01= ignition diagnostic monitor(IDM)
08= volume air flow (VAF) meter

so im guessing my guess was right it was the vaf meter so i inspected it closely and after that i decided to give it a few mechanic adjustments. i gave it a few light hits with a hammer and then with my fingers wipe the sensor located in the inlet and for my luck its turn on and stayed on     :D   .
i drove it a few times around the block with no noticeable hesitations or loss of power yay!!

 so it was probably the way i had my intake config,(with the sensor pointing straight down) which is weird since it had already been like that for like 3 mths or maybe just dust in the sensor chamber im going to buy some mass sensor cleaner and after that hope thats thats for that problem

now about code 01 any better description, would it have given it to me because of the same problem with the meter

change the fuel filter along with the fuel pump thanks guys  for all your guidance ill post later on how things turn out after i cleaned it
