Title: '91 N/A no start

It has gas, it has spark, it's in time, and it has compression... any suggestions?

All 4 cylinders have 120lbs. of compression.  All are getting spark, and all are getting gas (when we take the plugs out after trying to start it, they are plenty wet).  What could be causing this?  Has anyone ever had a problem like this?

Make sure your timing is on. Sounds like your timing is off.

You might try putting a fresh set of plugs in. I ran into a situation once where the plugs were getting Spark to them but the porcelin insolators had carbon tracted and the spark was going straight to ground. Boy was the guy I bought the car from cheap..POed when I changed the plugs and it fired right up....  (http://graemlins/big-biggrin.gif)

we timed it before trying to start it and we put it new plugs, so, good ideas but already tried.

Air leak between the MAF and the intake manifold?

But that wouldn't effect starting though, would it?  Cause I've started it with out the intake pipe on (it dies almost immediately, but it still starts).

EDIT:  P.S. Nice Neon (SRT-4?)

If you still have fuel pressure in the rail you might be able to start it without the VAF, but the fuel pump to my knowledge will not turn on during cranking without the VAF.

well we unplugged the fuel line and we had plenty of gas spewing out during cranking.

I had the same problem. Checked the error codes and came up with 01 and 15 which points to ign. and lean fuel problems. Checked everything I could think of, then disconnected the negative side of the battery to power down the computer. Reconnected and the car started and ran fine. Try resetting the computed mod.
