Tranny Fluid in Eng Oil by mistake....what can...
« on: January 20, 2010, 05:36:00 PM »

well....my son just put tranny fluid into the oil on the mercedes. what can happen from this..luckily it was only driven about 5 miles since being put it..i plan on dropping the pan and flushing it. pan was already leaking from before so might as well..but what effects could this have on the engine long term if any?

ATF or gear oil?

ATF is used to clean deposits out of engines sometimes. Drain oil, run ATF through at idle to warm, drain, fill with new oil

Shouldn't be a problem
