It's been awhile since I've been on here. I'm always here every couple of months but haven't had a ton of time to post too much. I've been adding Capri performance specific parts to my line up montly it seems. I just recently added Synapse Engineering (http://synapseengineering.com) . They have an awesome blow off valve that works wonders. Not all BOV's are created the same ;)
Anything new with anybody? Life? Cars?

capri-less...but still here...workin on my DSM now
-
Kelly, sounds like you have really done some work! Good to hear things are going well.
Gostlrs, I know the feeling. I had to sell mine when I got laid off from my full time job. I hope to get another in the future, just not sure when that'll be.
-
Wife made me a deal i could not pass up.....
Sell all mine and get the AWD beast and do anything i want to it....All new parts for me..HEHEHEHE
With the side note that if a really sweat 94 comes along for the right price....i can get that too
-
why she hatin on the capri
-
I been wanting a AWD DSM since coming back to the states, finally had a good deal on one. She likes the capri too.....thats why i can get a 94 later on
-
Doesn't sound like a bad compromise at all! But you will spend more money keeping that DSM on the road than the Capri.
-
I traded a car that i had 500 bucks invested into...
i have sold all the parts to get the DSM to a semi stock and will start building it up soon.
the bonus is..a 2G DSM with mods can sell for 6K+
cant get that from a capri...LOL
when i am done with what i want to do i will have about 3K invested...cars with same mods are selling on ebay right now for 8K
-
I sold my baby, Cory.

man, how I know the feeling, I have probobly got close to 4 grand into the caprinow, maybe more. I will keep it and try for 250 bhp, honestly I believe I can get it. I hope that I will be happy then. As far as building to see a profit, or just to learn more, I bought an 85 gt 5.0 convertible and have been putting some money into it. Hopefully be able to turn it for a small profit when the time comes. thanks to the big guy upstairs for keeping me busy, working, through these bad economic times. I gots this bad "car parts habit", and might need an intervention!!LOL
-
I remember way back when, when I had only 4 grand into the Super Roo. Ahhhh, those were the good ol' days........!! ;)
-
I should have stopped when I was 2 grand into it...
and also at 4 grand...
at 6 grand...
probably been a good idea at 8...
I figure my total cumulative Capri related costs over the last ~6 years have been about ~$10,000
wtf. I don't think anyone here will be giving me an intervention anytime soon either, lol
-
Matt, of course we won't have an intervention, we're "Enablers". I do know how you feel Matt, I put that into my car, but mine was all cosmetic.
-
I paid more to start out with, because I was determined to get a garage-kept, low-mileage, one-owner car - did that. Now I have most of the mods you can attach to an NA and still be able to restore it to orginal. I kept the as-built parts so I can sell it as original at some point in my life.
New brakes, timing belt, water pump, battery, plugs, wires etc - have all been replaced in the last 2 years. Only 68,000 miles and I'd drive it to Australia if I could,
I have added CD player, tires, wheels, cloth top, painted the side-molding strato-blue to match the car, clear front lenses,'94 tail lights and the rest of the black exterior trim.
Then there's the CAI, exhaust header, 2.25" exhaust, high-flow cat, flowmaster, resonator tips and the strut bar. I haven't totaled the reciepts in a long time - maybe it's better not to know!
It looks great and sounds great. I thought about a turbo, but now that I have the XR2, I think I'm done with modding it.

After owning my car, buying all my goodies...buying 2 parts cars and then selling the capri and goodies and parting out the parts cars..I am currently $1300 to the plus...not bad, i still have the XR2 Engine and tranny and other parts to sell. My est is +2K when all done..Not a bad little investment. I will still keep an eye out for some sweet deals.LOL
