I have a new mechanic (Ford guy) working on my 1991 non-turbo base Capri and he found issues with the original distributor cap.  Any ideas where to look for a new one?  I found lots of turbo caps but they don't fit.

Not trying to revive an old post, but I can NOT find an OEM Distributor Cap for my 93 Capri Base Model.  It has two poles in one position, and two turned on their side.  HELP!

I was unable to turn up any new NA dizzy caps in my quick search. You may have more luck on something like Ebay, trying to find a less bad used one.

I've also had marginal success in the past replacing the points in a distributor cap. It's not pretty, but its something worth trying if yours is definitely toast. Make sure there aren't any cracks in the plastic, then drill out (super carefully) the old points. Clean the thing, then find/make replacement points. If I remember correctly, I used a file & some loctite to make a snug fit.

As you'll learn, there are quite a number of parts for the Capri that are difficult/impossible to find. Sometimes you're gonna have to get creative

I had a look on rockauto one night, the distributor rotor is common with a 88/89 ford festiva, and a 87-92 mazda b2200.
This would imply that the cap from these vehicles matches the rotor, as far as electrode point spacing/diameter. Not a sure thing, but a starting point at least
The mounting holes & offset may be different.

If you look up these caps, the plug wires attach differently. IF one of these caps were to work, AND the plug wires are insufficient length, you could likely use 1.8L ford escort plug wires as they are longer

The aforementioned caps are fairly cheap, if someone is looking to do more legwork and order the caps to see if they'll work, that'd be a good thing for the community. I have an N/A parts car that hasn't run in years, but I lack the time to get it going to do any testing with other caps

I did go so far as to 3d scan an oem N/A distributor cap, 3d printing is likely out as a reproduction method due to material constraints. But if anyone has any ideas I'm open

This is true, I bought one last year sometime though I haven't actually gotten around to putting it on yet.
