I picked up a set of spindle nuts for my 1991 xr2, and they do not remotely match the ones I removed from the car, Mine for some reason has no washer, it's all one piece. The top is hit in where there's a nub on the axle, but the one I received is threaded the entire length. Some people are telling me that it'll just lock on when it's down tight enough, but when I purchased them I was told to hit the top in.
For the sake of accuracy, I looked up what the listed axle nut is, that one is NOT threaded the entire length so that you can hit the top in.

I would suggest returning them and try ordering from somewhere else for the proper stake nuts.
Rockauto.com has them I know, but I had similar issues a few years back trying to order them from my local autoparts store.

These are actually the mazda nuts that match the correct OE number. But I'm not seeing any TSB related to it. I actually bought them from midcounty mustang, I kinda assumed they were correct when he even said to stake them. But staking through the threads like that is going to take a pretty good swing.

Nut I removed from the car, completely unsure of Part Number of this nut since nearly all 29mm's require washers.

The odd part is if you use Rock Auto to search for the spindle nut it returns a half-threaded nut. And if you use Dorman's website using the Mazda OE part number, it also shows a half-threaded nut.
My coworkers believe this nut has uneven threads at the top that will stretch as it's tightened down so that staking will not be required. But, like I said Midcomustang told me to stake the nut.

That's still a stakenut, it should work fine. It doesn't have the washer on it, there is a specific washer for the style you have.

Yea, I ordered the washer already that is supposed to match the spindle nut. But is anyone sure why these ones are threaded the entire length and the ones that are available online aren't?

My only experience with the axle nuts is that I ordered a complete set from Pat at Mid County Mustang. I called him and he had them. They were reasonably priced...and I knew they were the correct ones.

That is where I bought these ones, that's why I'm a bit concerned that they look different then the "correct" ones. Like I said, staking against threads is going to take a good swing, and I haven't been able to find any spindle nuts that match the ones I received online.

Stake it!!! it will not come off. Make sure you torque (135lbs iirc) it properly or your wheel bearings will pay...not a fun job to replace.

hit it with the impact a couple times, stake it and be done with it...

I agree, You don't want to crank on it too much or you'll crush the bearings but tighten it down good, stake it and forget about it.
