well my friend, synapse engineering is a top notch company, making extremely high quality produts ..i would rate there offerings as equal to, (my favorite) HKS, APEXi, SARD, some TRUST(GREDDY) products,,, and yes it will perform and do exactly as it says it will.. your friend will be very pleased..
your link brought me to synapses homepage.. so i dont know exactly what product your talking about ..but i do have experience with there rising rate FPR, and there wastegates.. both are smooth, well built, and fully adjustable units.. and we were very happy with them..

hope that helps... if i didnt quite answer the question, please ask it again or more specifically, and ill try to elaborate further...Joe, RCI Customs

i suppose you mean a missing link??
on a honda (or any car running a map based ECU)
it is essentially a boost blocker or check valve,
im gonna be honest with ya. most guys running theese cars. end up running a GM 3bar map sensor that will allow proper metering of about 3 bar of pressure, or close to 30 psi. which on most turbos is out of efficiency anyways, and will blow up even the most hardened turbo builds
(unless your running super low compression like a b6t has 7.9-1) then fully built and hardened some cars can hold 2 bars above atmosphere..

one big exception is anything turbo diesel..
theese monsters will eat some 40-50 psi of boost and not even cough... duramax diesels are amazing for this and insane torque is atainable
ive actually been beat in a race by a super tuned duramax that was putting down high 12s at the local dragstrip...

i had a s-13. and i loved it.
best drifting ,most controllable, rwd ive ever driven.
he will be pleased with the BOV it will completely eliminate compressor surge.

personally i like the HKS ssqv. the design is genius, and will never leak boost. even like 3 bar above atmosphere. ive had one on my xr2 for years and have never had to maintain it. and it still works wonderful...
also having inserts for different sounds is a cool add on ...
ive also ran a blitz BOV on our festiva build theese also work really well and are a bit fancier looking
