Cylinder #1 is on the passenger side

The cap on the dizzy should have each plug labelled for the proper cylinder

the firing order of the b6t engine is 4-3-1-2
thats what gives the engine that distinct,  almost boxer tone on the idle...

better yet look at the motor sideways. split it in half, and think,
 outside, inside, outside, inside.

4 (outside) 3 (inside) 1 (outside) 2 (inside)
an engine designed this way makes good torque...
although not the smoothest running design...

you may want to check again ... it kinda has to fire in the order that the rotor button touches the pins...

no your right, it spins the other way... but the principle is the same...

2 (inside) 1 (outside) 3 (inside) 4 (outside)

inside, outside, inside, outside,....

keep in mind that everything rotates to the front of the car... hence the rotor button spins towards the front of the car... or counter clockwise if your looking at the dizzy cap...

technically 1342 is right.. but any combo with them in this order is correct...
2134-1342-3421-4213... on the cap it starts with 2 so 2134 by the cap..

you can see where the engine gets its tone from essentially firing like it has two banks

left 2.. (inside left) (2)-- (outside left) (1)
right 2..(inside right) (3)-- (outside right) (4)
     -2-1-3-4-

or 1342 its all the same....
