Title: Turbo issues

I'm curious do these cars have turbo issues? i ran into one i was told my turbo aint blown but it aint building any boost at all an im really sad :( any advice?

-Your gauge could have failed
-The wastegate could be stuck open
-There's a major boost leak somewhere

Who's telling you this? What other issues is the car having? If the turbo isn't boosting it's usually accompanied by a number of other major issues

A friend of mine who builds turbo's, it sounds like its spinning an working just not building any boost sounds like a supercharger with out the power lol

Mine had blown oil seals and the bushings worn out. Had 176,000 miles on it.
You will prob need to take it off and see how loose the wheels are.
These guys on this site can give you good advice. I would listen to them before others.

You do not need to take the turbo off to check for shaft play. That's an excessive amount of work that could lead to more problems than it might diagnose.

Evidently I was not clear. Cant you take the front tubing off and grab the wheel and feel the loose play?

Sorry, I read your comment as recommending removing the whole turbo unit just for inspection.
The plastic intake tube can indeed be removed easily to do a quick check on turbo shaft play
