Title: LED headlights
Post by: Marc on August 02, 2012, 08:37:00 AM
I have a set of high-power LED lights from a streetlight. These are in banks of 4 LEDS and are about 1" tall by 4" wide.
LEDs are great because they can be aimed precisely and thereby not annoy other drivers.

But here's my challenge: I want to modify the headlight buckets so they only raise a couple of inches. Similar to the Miata mod, only even narrower.
I've done some disassembly and can't quite figure out the way to do that. If any of you has more smarts than me, please share!

You have to modify the motor's linkage, cut out the appropriate amount from both sections of the arms & re-weld.

I do not think LED headlights are street-legal yet, though, so I would research this a bit first. Would certainly look cool  (http://smile.gif)
