If you visit Rockauto, you can check the dimensions of the dampers by clicking on the "Info" button next to the part.
You can find the supports under "Body & Lamp Assembly" and then "Lift Support". (https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/mercury,1991,capri,1.6l+l4+turbocharged,1196636,body+&+lamp+assembly,lift+support,1404?)

There's one Stabilus damper listed, but it says it's only for a non-spoiler trunk, i.e. non-XR2. Don't know if this is true, but maybe you try that damper (it has all lenghts listed in the info section) and check back with Stabilus. Part number is 5B515763.

I already check Stabilus shop, the number ist unknown on their page.

Also all other brands mentioned at Rockauto are unknown in german car parts shops.

I found good availability over eBay. Even had a choice of with/without spoiler. Shipping wasn’t too bad.
