Thursday a friend with lukemia died. Friday another friend had a blood clot in his brain and died. Friday my neighbors put their beloved dog to sleep. Friday I found out that the raffle tickets I ordered didn't get done, and found out that the 5 volenteers I was expecting, would not be there.
Saturday I was running just a bit late and didn't get to the track until 9:00am There were five cars already there. After unloading the cars we started to get everyone registered. The cars started pouring in. 33 in all. I was busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest, and my friend was even busier.
When we got to the track someone was already on it. I went and talked to the track owners and got the mess straitened up so track time was cut down. Apparently the guy who took my reservations, decided not to put it on the calender and they double booked. Since I had 33 cars, and they had one, we won.
Everyone seemed to enjoy just walking around and talking to everyone. Cory had fastest lap.
The picnic portin of the event went very well I thought, considering most of the parking area I had reserved was taken.
I think logistically we did better this year than last. There are still a few things that can be ironed out. We had plenty of food. I am shocked they voted my car the "ugliest" MY CAR IS NOT UGLY. IT WAS THE PRETTIEST ONE THERE!!!! HA HA
Trophys were given out, and we were amazed no 92's made it to the picnic. Had even one showed up, they would of come away with a trophy. So we made the trophy and ribbon door prizes.
I am not sure of the count who went to the drive-in, I think it was low. People were tired and may have underestimated how long the day would be when they originally thougt about the movie.
