Title: Well, I found one!
Post by: tonlaw71 on April 04, 2011, 06:01:00 PM
Well, I found a new toy! Needs some work, but I love the boost. New motor, new transmission, new clutch, new brakes, 2 1/2" exhaust... All done. Time to clean and accessorize!

Is it chipped yet? I like the hose to the BOV, gives me an idea how to route mine back to recirculate. Nice not having to put $ where he already did. Gotta love a new toy!

Nope, no chip yet. Got the boost turned down until I can get the funds to Mr. Rocket! It is nice not having to fork out a lot of cash just to get it on the road.

Isn't that the truth! Body looks good and possibly even rainproof. The little things go a long way in saving up. Sounds stupid but I've kept every receipt down to bulbs to see how much I'm putting in. Had an Alfa that ate a hole in my pocket.

Yeah, the body isn't too bad. No rust. Some damage to the passenger door, but the guy threw in a replacement door! The top doesn't leak, but you can't see out the back window at all. That will be one of the first things I take care of. Can't wait to get to work on it. Too bad work takes away from Capri time!

Nice score... you got a little work ahead of you in no time you'll have a nice cruiser!

What kind of boost was he running without a chip?

Not sure if I'm digging the BOV mounting. its certainly different, thats for sure. I guess if it works!

What clutch combo is in it?

BTW, congrats and welcome to the turbo club!

I was thinking of running the BOV closer but forward with the same angle. Easy way to run the lines, but then again I dont it going to atmosphere. Going for that beat up sleeper look!!! A little quiet.

Looks good Tony!  Rocket welcomed you to the turbo club.  You are also apparently a member of the Red Capri club!

You'll probably have all the bugs worked out of it by the time MACG rolls around!

Mark, I hope I will have it all done by the MACG. I didn't really want a red one, but it's seems to be the most available color. When are you gonna make it down here so we can go cruisin'?

Matt, he had the boost controller turned all the way down, so just running stock boost. I haven't changed it. Not sure about the clutch, I'll ask him. Not real thrilled with the BOV placement either. That'll get changed here soon. BTW, I took care of the oil baffles on the valve cover. Seems to have taken care of the problem! Thanks for helping yesterday!

Tony,

Next couple of weekends are pretty tight with things to do.  Maybe by the end of the month.

I agree Joshua, mines getting into collecting tickets territory. Once I get the turbo built & exhaust it should really move. It just takes time.

Thanks, what's crazy is that I haven't even buffed it yet! That was just a quick wash with the pressure washer. I grabbed some touch-up paint for all the scratches and gonna repaint the wing.

Here's some pics of the new seat covers and pedal pads.
