Title: Strut Question
Post by: darqueyes on July 12, 2005, 05:48:00 AM
I've been told that my rear struts are shot.  Lately I've been hearing a squeaking noise coming from the rear.  If it is the struts how much damage can I do driving like that for say another 2 months?  I'm holding off replacing the struts because my mechanic is presently incapacitated ( OK; incarcerated). I can't afford to pay a garage and I won't let anyone else touch precious unless it's an emergency.

Terri-Try doing lots of sit ups, and abdominal stretching exercises- you'll tighten up in no time. Remember, it's summertime, you want to pull your top down and show off that classy little chassis of yours.

Squeaking is not a "big" problem. Have someone check to ensure everything is still tight and return to the road. 2 months should not kill you. On the other hand, if the parts are loose, and cannot be tightened due to wear....You know where this ends up, $$. Good luck.

Eric thanx for the info.  Razz at my age my chassis is considered classic not classy.  And if you don't know what kegals are I'm sure Bob can explain it to your wife the next time he's with her.
