1992 Mercury Capri - $350 (Salford, PA)
« on: September 24, 2012, 02:21:00 AM »

All,
I have posted my 1992 N/A Capri for sale in Craigslist.com (Lehigh Valley, PA).

I thought I would be able to restore it but just discovered the floor boards were rusted through and some frame rot.

I still believe this would make a good restore project. I just don't have the welding skills to repair the rust.

The care has 94K miles on it. I just finished rewiring the front turn signal/parking and marker lights. Engine runs good.

Interior is in good shape. Needs glove box latch and pass side door pull.

I hope this goes to a good home. I'm just trying to re-coop my investment so far of $350. The car was a gift from my sister.

Thanks,
Slimbob
I wsas really looking forward to making it to the N.E. Gathering next week!

All,
I'm pulling the Capri back and plan on doing the repairs over the winter. I just couldn't see selling the car for so little when I see so much potential in her.

Thanks,

All,
I am re-posting the 92 Capri for sale at $350, OBO. I had a heart attack over the winter and never got a chance to get started on restoring the car. I just don't have the time as I'm working an hour and a half away now.

I would like to see it go to a good home and someone that might try to restore it. Still think it would make a good project.

Thanks,
Slimbob

Here is the Craigslist link.

I tried to start it today for the first time since last Sept/Oct. Ran fine then. Will run if squirt carb cleaner in the intake. But stops right away. Not getting Gas. Gauge says 1/2 tank. I added a couple gallons today. Checked the reset button in the trunk and it is not popped.

If someone from the forum wants it they can have it for $100. I'm ready to move on.

I'm pretty sure I can take it, I'll see what I can do to bring it back to life. I don't usually do rust, but the body looks pretty good.

You're in Salford, PA - correct? A little over an hour from me.

Rocketman,
Yes I'm in Salford, PA. The body is in good shape. No rust there. As I said the car will have to be towed as the brake system won't hold fluid. And still no gas getting to the engine.
