The 94 XR2 uses 195 50 tires without any problems you might run into clearance problems with the strut seats with 205's unless you have coil overs.

I have 205/50 15 on the rear of my 94 xr2. Never had a problem. They are worn out but thats from the road not the struts!Rocky

i'd say go with stock size 15 tires for the capri. to keep the speedo close. usally the 14" and 15" tires are set so they can be swapped without much speedo change. bigger question, most aftermarket rims are wider then stocks when people get them. how wide are your rims cause normal xr-2 tires might not work right with the width.

I find this website very helpful when figuring out tire sizes.

that calculator works well. but before you do it. find out how wide your wheels are, and then find out the different sizes of tires that are possible to get for that wheel thickness. once u get them, use the calc to measure your standard tire to the ones avaliable for your aftermarket wheel size and get the closest size with the least difference on your mph.

im on my second set of wheels for my capri. both have been 16x6.5... and making close to 200whp im allways searching for traction..what ive found is a 205-40-16 fits all the way arround
giving about .5 inch between the rear lower spring stops and the tire.... a 215-45-16 will fit in the front, leaving about the same .5 inch
to the spring stop....ive got a set of 3/8 wheel spacers from a past b6t festiva build (needed to clear 205 on the festy) with theese and some longer gorilla studs im going to run 215-45-16 all the way arround.... should help traction issues encountered with the power of the new
engine we built... and give a sportier appearance with the wider stance....just thought id toss my setup out there ....

those sizes still depends on widths. of the wheel itself. also the speedos will get set off some. look at the 16" wheels
205/40-16
215/40-16
both use the same % of side wall, just one is 10 more then the other. so that 215/40 will set the speedo off more then the other.

ok, first on a car with a quick detach bumper (for intercooler servicing) and 200 ponies, im not caring much if the speedometer reads correct. with the first 60 mph flashing buy in mere seconds, your speeding.. and thats all ya really need to know.

a 215 40 16 does not exist. (well not in kumho land) to get a 215 width you need to take the 45 series aspect ratio in trade. the 215-45-16 is a taller tire when inflated than the 205-40-16 is
not able to be put on the capri, without wheel spacers or a wheel with more dish. the rear spring seats rub the tires...

You can get the miata roll bar and it will fit near close. im not 100% sure about the mounts, but im sure you can get something to match.

the miata style bar will fit with modification ...you will need a grinder... and you need to modify the top compartment lid it needs the corners cut off...its not easy but not all that hard one drawback is you cant run both the style bar and a bubble tonneau you have to make a small tonneau...
heres a better pic ...you can see where i had to trim the corners off the top cover lid. but just a little bit... the bar bolts under the seatbelt shoulder belt retract guide...
