Engine Temp
« on: May 30, 2012, 01:53:00 PM »

On my 91 N/A I was concerned that it might be running hot and I was having issues with the cooling fan.

Changed the thermostat with oem rate 195 degree, changed the sensor on the end of the thormostat hopusing and cleaned the relay.  Lo and behold the dam fan now worked, BUT temp gauge still runs about 3/4 way up.  Nowhere near redline hot but still concerns me.

Should I be concerned?  Is the 195 to high a thermostat?

Thanks guys, Kerry

Running 3/4th the way up sounds about normal. Here's a pic of where mine runs:

Kerry, did one of you stop in at Brewskie's in Eastburg this week? My friend works next store and said someone went in with a Red XR2.

Thanks Rocketman.  Mine has the l-h guage but that is where it is running.

Thant means Barbs 93 probably has the wrong thermostat in hers as it only runs about 1/3 to just under a half away up.

That was Barb in her 93.  It's an N/A but the previous and only other owner put the xr2 wing on it.

She was getting me Corona's and Framboise (Belgian Beer).
