does the standalone computer for our cars use obd1 or 2? or do you have to use a laptop for diagnostics... just curious, would like to know how to diagnos the thing if i get the standalone. thanks!

It doesn't use either, no OBD compliance, and no trouble codes. You can see each sensor's signals though, and datalog with a laptop to determine problems. Generally if you've got as far as standalone you don't need diagnostics, you know the system well enough to troubleshoot it

I guess I see Ur point lol. Sensor data will be much more reliable than dtc's
