Rare Capri at the junkyard

Yeah I'm gonna try to snatch em.

Also got what I went for. Nice Probe GT IC. Big upgrade to a stock pathetic Capri IC.

By the way the Capri was an auto with 100k on the odo and a nice clean engine.

Yeah I did NOT know the steelies were standard on all N/A Capri's for all the years. Looks like almost everyone that bought one went for the preferred equipment package then cause this is the first one I've ever seen with them!

I forgot to look and see if it has other "options" like AC and cruise.

How well does the Probe GT IC fit on a Capri? Have to cut any metal or major replumbing?Rocky

Not sure, its not going into a Capri. I would imagine its not too hard of a fit, its the same basic shape as the stocker with the inlet/outlet in the same general location. Just thicker and a little bigger.

AFAIK all post-89 model capris were equipped with AC. (the 89 sohc in Oz, i dont think got it, or it was optional)

All US model capris were equipped with AC...

Cruise was an option. From the pic, it doesn't look like it has cruise control.

The Probe IC isn't a big increase in performance. I guess for the money it isn't bad. You will need to do a little modification on the outlet tube the stock hose won't stretch to fit right. I tried this and it really wasn't worth the effort.

This article is for the 323GTX but it is pretty close to what you will experience. Check the chart on air temps;

your noticable increase will come with new piping. The stock IC has such restricked piping it is almost rediculus. It goes down to 1.25" in spots I think. when I replaced the intercooler and piping it made a whole bunch of differance. At the same time I replaced all that, I went ahead and did a new intake as well, tried to make it all 2.5", kind of matches the exhaust I did!

takes some cutting and fabricating, but the results are tremendous, when you tie the exhaust in with it!
