I ordered brass shoulder bushings and shoulder screws to tune up my shifter.
McMaster-Carr
6 10mm flanged shoulder bushings 6659K14 @ $2.50 ea.
1 10X35 shoulder screw 92981A325 @ $3.06
2 10x50 shoulder screw 92981A307 $3.44 ea.
The major modification is drilling or grinding the peened head off the shoulder rivet. Be sure and clean out the tubes prior to trying to insert the bushings. I had to use one factory bushing because the brass one wouldn't go into the tube. Also add a washer under the head of the long screws. The factory bolt is 48mm long, but they aren't available. The bolt into the transmission is a royal PITA and getting the Allen wrench into it is also. The payoff is a tight shifter that gives snappy shifts and will last for a long time hopefully.

I did mine April of last year as I had posted under non-capri usable parts. It's still smooth and noise free.

I'm very happy. Did you use the stock shoulder bolts and what did you do about the rivet?

Ground off the peened end of the rivet. I used a new non-shoulder bolt with locking nut.
