Hi all,

Perhaps the spark is weak and isn't burning off buildup properly...I would suspect your coil, or the coil to cap wire...or, could be cheap China crap for metal that allows this buildup to happen, something we all may have to live with eventually...Chris

Thanks Chris.

I'm going to try to look more Tuesday. I'll replace cap again, put old wire on and see what happens.(and see if i can scrape the contacts clean). coil is new too.
it looks like the dust cover prevents the cap from going on snug like it should.
do I need the dust cover on or can i leave it off?
