Looking for opinions....
« on: December 09, 2010, 12:06:00 PM »

Recent conversation has led me to re-think my current plans for the Super Roo. The car is so badly rotted, that re-building it seems to be a wasted effort. Especially when I have a large supply of rust free chassis, and built cars in my barn.
So, my question to you guys is:

1) Should I rebuild the car from the ground up, using a rust free chassis, and all its existing parts?

2)Transplant the drive line and other custom goodies into my ClubSprint?

3)Transplant the the drive line into "Antoinette" (Anthony's old car)?

Just looking for ideas and suggestions.  If the choice was yours, what would you do?

If that clubsprint is 100% stock, I wouldn't touch it.  I'd go with #1, if you already have a stock of good chassis to work with.

Jamie, these are unibody cars...no frame to speak of...

The clubsprint is slightly modded - aside from the body. It has pretty low compression on one cylinder. It will need a motor rebuild/swap anyway to be a good driver.

Antoinette has a boosted N/A motor in it, full turbo conversion... I would leave that as-is.

That being said, I dont think the F40 hood would look good on the clubsprint.

I like the SuperRoo in red! Lets fix the rot, or start with a new chassis

I'm with rocketman. I would start with a new chassis or fix it. That club sprint would look funny with the hood.

Russ -

I think you owe it to yourself to maintain the integrity of the Clubsprint.  It is distinctive and there are so few.  You can resurrect the Roo-Sport in another car in your stable, but the CS is it's own breed and ought to be preserved.

Besides, that funky hood should be Strato-Blue!

im with rocketman on this one i think u should rebuild superroo just because its diffrent from the rest of the ones u own. no reason to change the other two. just fix the club sprint and leave it be.that way u will not feel bad about loseing superroo.
