Title: inside an HID ballast

well i recently lost a ballast for my HID kit..
when i got a new one i tore the bad one apart to see whats inside ...
heres what i found...

the board is completely covered in silicone (notice the pile) and i had to peel it off to see what was inside...

there now yall know whats inside ...

your drip water? i know most go back cause they are not sealed right.

mine filled with water, and was getting hot...
 it leaked where the wires go in....

the best tips i can say with HIDs, is first mount them upside down, so the plugs face down. this seems to let them drain some. second, take some water sealant or even common Vaseline run int alone the crease of the box, once it is mounted. that should help it repel some water. i use clear sealant that drys, and it is working well in my headlights (bi-xenon) and in my fogs.
