I been doing some research on the Miata's because I been thinking about getting a second gen one and stumbled across this setup. He has the 1.6 B6 engine turbo'd and using the 1G ECU setup....
Thoughts? If they can use it so could the capri I would think.....

The miata uses a much more advanced ecu system as does the DSM. There is a plug n play ms available for us

Necro'd.
I would absolutely buy that if I knew what the hell to do with it. Ha ha

There's someone currently converting EVO 8 ECUs for use on the BP engine. should work for the XR2 as well.
Search "BP Performance" on facebook.
Same deal. requires different sensor(s) and coilpacks to replace the distributor. Deletes the VAF.

I’ve been following this thread of someone doing the EVO ecu swap on his Protege.
IMHO... a megasquirt still seems to be a better option with more features and install flexibility.

Just read over that thread, definitely agree. It seems like a huge waste of time, when Megasquirt is so much easier.
