Hey All,I'm currently rebuilding a 91 XR2 engine and I'm having problems locating a new oil pressure sending unit; any ideas??? DW
-
Go aftermarket. The stock gauge is horrendously inaccurate anyways. Unless you want it there for the idiot light?
A cheap Autometer or Sunpro mechanical guage will serve you much better.

ok,I want to keep my stock gauge working and add a mechanical one, I plan to Tee off at the sending unit port at the block if possible if their is enough room or maybe somewhere else?

Mechanical oil pressure gauges are ust a bad idea as a rule of thumb (hot oil lines in cabin). Look at the what did you do to your xr2 today thread by your truly and find a link for a $16 electrical oil pres gauge with sending unit. and keep your interior from catching on fire.

While Im driving my guuge sits on 4kg/cm2 and then when you idle at traffic lights comes down to 2. But mine being a N/A model I dont know why they bothered to put one in... lol. But its fun to watch....

correction: gauge.. oh, and I was refering to the one in the dash, not an aftermarket. (http://graemlins/big-smile.gif)

Hey Spiro! Happy New year! Talking about your oil pressure gauge, does it sometimes make you think you're watching a tach? The way it keeps spinning as you rev the engine. It took some getting used to on my part when I bought my first Capri. When I bought my second Capri and it also did the same then I didn't worry as much. Gus.

Thanks Gus Happy new year to you!
yeah love the guages, I wish I had more, The more info on the car I have the more reliable I feel with it, to diagnose if any problems occur.
