Looks like chromes orange. That may be expensive.
-
hey, where is the pumkin face??? I like the chrome look. I wonder how much it would cost to chrome plate the whole car/
-
Actually i kind of like that color, imagine it with an f40 wing and clubsprint bumpers
-
LOL (http://graemlins/big-biggrin.gif) Dr Bob, Chrome plate the whole car...good
-
The orange color is really nice, House of Kolor makes some of the best candy shades around! As for the green top and wheels...it's all you, baby ROFL!!!!
Good luck with it.

Candy will notbe cheap or easy to repair. Its not like flats, gloss, metallic or pearls, if you scratch it, you cant just touch it up cause it will not match, for the most you have to redo that panel and you must hope the paint shops good to match it up with the rest of the panel then.

I had a friend that had one of those color change paints from factory that came on the probe Gt's and it got rear ended and they ended up having to repaint the whole car because they couldnt get the paint to ever match, and it wasnt cheap to repaint the car. I also heard thru the years that the fade in paint jobs(mostly chevy-gmc trucks) was a *ITCH to get to look right once you have to repaint just one part as well

So then whats the best paint to get for the price? and average cost... I've just started fixing up my '92 n/a and I'm about done with the mechanics and ready for the asthetics.
-
Alot of boy shops will use paints like DuPoint, its good paint but there are better paints out there but will run you more money. It depends on how much your willing to spend.
-
lol... alright how about how much should I be willing to spend to have it done right the first time?
-
Depends on what your looking for. If your looking for touch up a couple hundred. If your looking to redo the stock paint to body panels only you may be looking 500-1000. If your looking for stock paint on panels and jams and other misc parts your looking maybe 800-1400. If your look for special metallic, pearls you may be looking at 1500-2200. Special paints and body parts and other misc conbinations may run 1500-10,000. It all depends on what you want. Some people choose to get a new stock color or the same stock color done and it cost about 600-800 and they look great. Best off is to get the color you want and what you want done, and then ask around and find out. Some states have higher cost rate then others due to money zoning which isnt uncommon, that happens with most products sold. You can relate with that with gas when a state may charge 1.30 for 87 and in callie that same gas may be almost 2 bucks. But this is proble prices and may not relect your areas pricing.
-
Money zoning? What is callie?
-
Cali is what he meant, as in California. And by zoning he means different states may have different regulations and of course taxes. Another thing that plays in, is the demand in that area.
-
That and some places base their prices on peoples worth in the area. Reason sometimes you can get a better deal if you go to another area in your city.
