I've heard that the airbag light blinking is some sort of trouble code, is that right? If so does anyone know what it means when it blinks 6 times and stops and does it again? and also when it blinks 10 times and then stops and repeats.

my 91 is doing the same thing!!!! i was thinking of taking the whole airbag system out what do yall think about that to?

I also have a 91 with a blinking airbag light. I believe that I looked it up once in a shop manual. It is in there, but I don't remember what all the codes are? I think 8 0r 9 blinks is a bad ground...but I am not sure. I did see it in there. You may want to give that a read.

Check your rear sensor first, that's the one under the handbrake. Then check the other sensors near the radiator. One is under the washer fluid tank, the other is on the driver's side headlight. I tried to fill my washer fluid one day, leaked out poured on the sensor. Code 5-10 since then.

Thanks for the manual Mike, It helped a ton! I really dislike dealing with electrics and diagnostic codes :/ but I suppose Ill have to fix it that airbag light is almost as bad as a CEL that stays on haha Thanks guys (http://smile.gif)

you bet, i get alot of help from the brochachos here so when i get a chance to help out im always glad to

So if I have the same ten blink code for a ground all I do is take it apart, clean it, ad put it back or is there a sensor to replace?

Mine blinks continuously with no discernable pause. I counted 75 rapid fire blinks a pause then 100 rapid fire blinks. That was right after startup. Then while driving it started rapid fire blinking continously for well over 200 blinks....

The airbag module is a little blue box mounted on the firewall above the steering column. When you unplug it the light will stay on, just remove the light. Even if it were to be off, I don't trust those 30 year old components.
