fuel pump questions
« on: August 21, 2010, 08:01:00 AM »

I am now looking for parts for the rebuild. I keep running across the 255 lph walbro fuel pumps on ebay, but Joe, you said to get a low pressure one. Can I regulate the pressure by using something different??
Nother question... I am looking at buying rings, bearings, freeze plugs, front and rear main seals ect... Should I go through mazda speed for these, or should the ones offered on ebay be sufficient??
I don't want to go throught all this and put junk in my car.
I am looking for a set of the 450 cc baby blue topped, DSM injectors, also.

I'm running a 255lph high pressure pump... IIRC the low pressure pumps are for TBI or carb'd vehicles????

I really pushed my car, Tbird at 18-19 PSi on the stock B6T - did not run out of fuel with stock fuel injectors/pump

when I buy the new turbo, that will be pushing 500 cfm, will it still be enough?? Is our stock fuel pump rated at 255 lph?? Oh one more thin g, I finally got the local guys at the auto parts place to give me a "dealer cash price", really will make a diffferance on the stuff I buy. For instance
Rod bearings list 43.77 my cost 28.36
Main rod STD list 75.17 my cost 48.68
Thrust washer set 14.43 my cost 11.07
Ring set STD 8.54  my cost 44.39
I forgot to price out new freeze plugs.
Is there anything I forgot, that will be needed to do the bottom end??
Anybody ever heard of Knife blading the crank??
