JDM B6T.... Direct fit for us?

will the JDM B6T with the IHI VJ6 turbo direct fit in our cars?

i have hook ups still in japan and might try to work something out for one.

I'm not sure if its a VJ6...i've heard of VJ13 and VJ5.

I dont know if they'll fit, you might need a custom downpipe made.

Are you looking for the extra HP? USDM b6t's are a lot easier and cheaper to get ahold of.

Arent you already turbo?

The extra HP the jap engines see is from running higher octane gasoline and more aggressive timing. The intake manifold  changes the torque curve a bit too.

If you plug that engine into your harness and ECU it's going to be the same as what you have now. The turbos as far as I can tell the turbos are all the same size. Why not chip your ECU and upgrade to a VJ14/11 hybrid? A lot less work than swapping engines.

i want a spare engine to build on, and i can get this cheaper then grabbing one local. they want 600 or so around here and that's with out a Turbo. they have race gas in japan but most people don't run it. their normal gas is 92-93 so not much more then here. i mean if i have a chance to get a engine complete delivered for around 400 i would be stoked.

far as turbo's go. i want to go to a Mits turbo when this one is done.

chip is on the list after i get my AEM gauge/controller

'normal' here is 87. as far as my research has shown the only difference is the intake manifold and cams. Hmm, there is a gas station around here that sells 102... maybe I'll put that in my car and go toa  dyno

whats the price?

i was paying about 4-5 bucks a gallon (convert from liters) for race gas in japan. with that said we only got it when we went to the drags or drifting..

edit: it's a shell station that has 110 octane unleaded ima check it's price 2nite, there's also a place that sells 114 leaded... but i don't think i want that

damn thats nice...

i need to look around here i am sure someone should have some. i plan on doing a dyno before i raise the boost and chip it. so i can see the before and after

most exhaust claim to be 10-15 so i am hoping it to be around 15-20.

my boss know a shop where i can do as many passes for 30 minutes i think for like 50 bucks. if they know how they can also tweek your car.

i think i will change my timing belt before i do it. my car is squeaking when i start. i swear it wobbles and i feel vibration sometimes but the pulley is solid

Also know all the early JDM engines are small nose cranks.

Grant - The cams are the same on the jdm engine as far as I know.

I have the original engine from one of my GTX's here that I will part with...complete except for Ex. manifold/turbo and distributor.  350.00 picked up. Since you are going with a Mitsu turbo you will have to fab an ex mani. anyway. Also you get the Big GTX rods. Motor ran good just used some oil. LMK

i wanted to get the manifold  so i could work on it without bringing mine down at the time i wanted to work on it.

you willing to lend a hand doing a timing belt replacement? never did one myself and thought it was time to learn
