Title: Will be selling my 1991 XR2 turbo in the next few months
Post by: 9193CapriXR2 on November 12, 2023, 03:21:23 PM
Due to my father passing away on 10/30/2023 I will be inheriting 3 more vehicles (1994 Ford Bronco 5.8L, 1970 Dodge Challenger, and a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8) and since I already have 6 I have to let 2-3 go and unfortunately I think the 91 Capri is going to be one of them.  I will also be letting my 2002 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Roush Stage 2 go, and most likely my 1999 Dodge Dakota RT.  I still intend on Swapping out all four struts with the H&R lowering springs, replacing all brakes, pads, rotors, bearings, calipers, etc and completing the interior color change to black.  I will also be replacing the oxygen sensor for the Check engine light.  Has blackout taillight covers and Ive practically rebuilt the entire car.

All replaced within the last year:
aluminum racing radiator
water pump
timing belt
tensioners
belts
alternator
Fuel filter
CV axles (both)
plugs, wires, cap, rotor
battery
air filter
Tires
Speakers
radio
tinted windows
Passenger window lift motor
valve cover and timing cover gaskets
cooling fan switch
thermostat

Im sure other stuff that Im forgetting.  Car will come with both soft top and hardtop.  Hardtop needs a new headliner installed (I have black headliner material that goes with car)

Sorry about your dad. Sounds really nice, but you didn't mention your selling price.

Once all repairs are done.  I am not sure on price.  Im am thinking maybe $4k or around there with all the new parts and labor ive put into it.  Want to see how it all turns out once im done.  But id be interested in yalls opinion or suggestions on price.  Cost me $4k to have my father cremated so want to recoup as much of that as I can.

Sorry for your loss. I'm definitely interested, although it'll take some convincing to get my wife to agree to a second one.

Do you know roughly the mileage? What sort of shape is it in?

127,000 miles and some change.  No rust does have a couple dings and could really use a good paint buffing as the red is fairly faded.  I have a nice buffer and may do that to.  Both bumpers need replacement from paint peel but I have 2 good ones (same color) in attic from the parted car.  Drives wonderfully.  Alignment perfect, no shakes or shimmies.  CEL is on for o2 sensor which I've already purchased.  Just had to up and leave for Texas so haven't swapped it yet.  I'll get some pics while I'm doing brakes and struts.
