Turbo Clutch Power Limitations?
« on: March 20, 2014, 04:18:52 PM »

What are the power limitations of an OEM or Exedy OEM replacement clutch in the XR2 Turbo version of this car? Also what is different about this clutch and transmission compared to the N/A counterpart?

Thanks,

See my reply to your other post. The XR2 flywheel & clutch are larger diameter and the disk is a different spline count, won't work with the nonturbo transmission.

The stock XR2 clutch isn't all that great, IMHO. There are plenty of good ones out there however, ACT makes a damned good clutch. I have one in my Red XR2 and one in my GTXR2 which is paired to a 1.8L + turbo + grippy AWD. Never once slipped on me

That's just the disk, this is the whole kit:

The Heavy Duty pressure plate has far more clamping force over stock. It is definitely a stiffer pedal
