I for one love racing a car that makes a 1.6 liter dohc engine such as ours but makes 160 hp stock apposed to our 132 and doesn't need a turbo charger to attain those numbers. Trust me fast and the furious and poor people have ruined hondas image but at the end of the day a capri can't hold a candle to a well built honda, Period. It's funny because I go out there and watch all these domestic car owners talk poorly about hondas when they forget a couple important things. The mustang came with a 5.0 v8 that made 220 hp. The S2000 made a 2.0 4 cylinder that makes 240 hp. So it took ford 3 more liters and 4 more cylinders to make 20 less horsepower. That is embarrassing to say the least seeing as the mustang is a "Muscle Car" and hondas are "rice burners". And if thats not enough the S2000 looks better, handles better, Has better mileage and has reliability only second to Toyota. I can make many more comparisons of superior hondas leaving out the S2000 and Type R if need be. I just hate the image Honda has attained from uneducated people.
Talk about uneducated! HP is a function of torque vs. RPM, torque is really the way to compare two totally different motors. Look at the torque from a 5.0, and look at the torque from the honda motor.
Also - look when the motors were built- VTEC is so much newer. Look at today's motors from ford - they make much more HP with less displacement. Your comparign mucsle era technology to today's bleeding edge technology.
The only reason that the honda motor makes that much HP is because it can rev much higher than the 5.0. If you build a 5.0 to rev higher, it will produce much more HP.
I'm not saying one is better, or that I like one or the other, but dont go implying that the honda motor is so much better in every way. Just look at everything from both angles. [/b][/QUOTE]I really wanted to say what rocketman just said....but I bit my tongue.
As for the brake ducts...they practically were on the ground. The inlets were right below the holes for the fog lights.
