firewall updateIt has been a busy few days, with blood, bruises, burns, sunstroke and sweat...
Let me run through my progress.
- Partial taking out the dash enough to remove A pillars
- installed tweeters and wired into A pillars
- put dash back in after discovering where relays were mounted
- found the ECU underneath center of dash
- located electrical rubber grommet through firewall near battery
(underneath the fuel filter and other bigger thingy that looks similar) - Fitted dual battery system, threaded 6 AWG cable through firewall all the way to the boot for aux battery
- prewired jumpstart button and dual battery led indicator through firewall
- rewired headunit and mirabox switches directly through main battery, through firewall
- wired up 6 fitting ground distributor under dash on firewall for headunit, mirabox, jump start button
- considered placement of dual battery voltage meter near ashtray
images get bigger by clicking on them. Whew... times ticking down until the B6T install, so I've been making a list of stuff I will need to buy before the engine and all stock turbo upgrades goes in (AUD $2000 install quoted by a turbo mechanic). Did I mention I'm getting the timing belt done too at the same time...
- TODA Mazda racing timing belt
- new fan belts x2
- Electronic boost controller / BOV
Other stuff I will have to get later as money permits, such as the VJ 11 internals, 5th gear cog, Helical LSD etc...
