Title: This is new!!!!
Post by: greywolf27030 on December 27, 2015, 06:24:23 PM
Cranked up the old Capri today.  Ran perfectly, drove about 1./2 mill to the intersection.  Every time I depressed the clutch, there was a loud clicking.  When I stopped for the sign, there was a loud pop behind the temp gauge, followed by the acrid smell of burnt electronics and a few seconds of hissing.  OMG  Pulled off to the side and waited for smoke.  None came and the smell went away(top down).  The only thing different was the airbag light wasn't on.  Drove on down the road and no more clicking.  Maybe clutch safety switch blew up?  When I got to my destination, I parked on a hill in case it wouldn't start.  Tried to crank it and all was fine.  Now the bag light is on all time instead of flashing, maybe something in the airbag system?  Oh and the clutch pedal clicked one more time since.

Happy New Year,  Jack Byrd

Weird! Never heard of that one before.

My only guess is a bad ground(s) somewhere sending large amounts of power thru thinner wires. I've seen it before in other vehicles
