I'm very new to working on cars. This was my dads 1993 Capri he passed it down to me. Though he lives in another state.. I'd ask him to show me but Ive joined this forum to learn about these cars. (Yes I know these cars are nortoious for alternator belt breaks.)
Since I'm new to working on cars. the belt broke on me couple days ago. Had a friend fix it. Being told I WILL need to tighten the belt soon. I know where the bolts are to loosen up the alternator. The top and bottom slider ones. Do I need to push the alternator back as I tighten these bolts to make the belt tight? How tight it too tight?
Sorry for lack of mechanic knowledge. Tips and pointers will be awesome to know as well!
Thanks for the help!!
Also since I'm new to the forums I'm hoping I'm posting this in the correct forums.
