Copy away, I lurk on that group also.

Actually, there may be a little hope...that nylon part is pressed onto the vent hinge ... it looks like there is still some material poking out, you make be able to press another A on and have it stay???  That's how its originally made, just pressing that part on...Of course you'll need to find the part.

Or get a little vice grip plier on it, tie a string on it, and have heat...

If not, then you seem screwed...you'd have to put in a new heater box, and that's not something I'd look forward to doing...of course I live in Florida, our nuts don't freeze down here until January...!!!

Yeah, its snapped off flush. I am looking at a whole new heater box.  I and going to try and sneak around the heater core and see if i can't open it that way.  Other than that, i will have a propane heater riding shotgun.

I told you guys I would have heat...  This is probably a new one for you.  I am pretty proud of it.

So as you may or may not know, my hot blend door snapped off flush so just repairing the linkage was out of the question.  Look below:

With a little ghetto thinking, I was able to come up with this quick fix.

Next spring I will be looking for a new blend/deverting assy.

Right after I put the screw driver in there, I bought one to replace it.  That one, the blade on the "Flat Head" part was chipped.  I will add, I drove to Home Depot with HEAT!!!  And made the 70 mile hike to work this morning too.  I was toasty.

Thanks guys.

Blueamber:  Are you calling me an idoit?  If so, your right...

After seeing the "Emergency Reapair" for the dropped shifter on Yahoo!, this isn't too bad.  LMAO.

Hey its a privilege to welcome you to the idiot club!  I'll flip you for who is president and who is the court jester!

I don't know, if its broke I just look around until I see something that will fix it, I usually have a real not-smart look on my face while this happens (so I've been told)...MacGiver has nothing on me!
