I suppose I should chime in here.

1. Terri
2. Northeast WI
3. Karma
4. Don't have a clue.  Money has never not been an object.
5. I wouldn't change a thing, except all the parts that were engineered so poorly that failure was inevitable; like the power window assembly

My name's Eric and I live in Eagleville TN, a small town south of Nashville. I was given my 1991 red XR-2 by my grandparents last summer. I love that it's a convertibal, quick, has excellent handling, and is not very common. My dream car would be a brand new BMW M3, manual trans, fully loaded, black. I'd like the new Capri to be 2 door, retractable hard top, rear wheel drive, V6 or V8, maybe simmilar in looks to the 91-94's.

This is a quote from my response on page one of this thread...

"In 1971 daddy bought me a brand new muscle car, a dodge challenger, blue with a white inside, white vinyl top and a sunroof.
That was my personal favorite."

I got my personal favorite.

Name:  Eric

Location: Montpelier, Va (Northwest of Richmond)

Reason for buying: I guess it would be the low production numbers, I have a 93 NA,  I have owned a 69 MGC also, six cylinder MGB.

Dream car: I would love something with umph...Say a Twin turbo 300zx

Return of the Capri: Well if we can get support for it, lets rock. I hate going to the Merc dealer and having people roll their eyes. Mazda people try to help at least.

My name is Kayla, and I have a 1991 Capri, with the turbo.
I'm located in Northern NJ. (Sussux/Morris/Passaic county, Oakridge) And yes I am cinsidered to be in all 3 counties. (lol)

I decided to get my capri because my thunnderbird had a cracked head, and boom went the motor     But, I'm happy with this car, and I am a t-bird lover, as well as a Capri lover now!  ;)

What I love most about my capri is the fact that it is a maual trnasmission, and I have control over my RPMs and when I want to shift. I love my turbo alot tho, I must confess. The lag kills me, but that added power can be such a rush! (especially when you're racen a hot guy)

If money were no object, the first car I would want... a McLearn F1!!!!!!!! DuH!!!!!!! After that tho, I would want an Aston Martin Vanquish.... I've never seen anything so sexy before. Who knows, maybe a Bughatti!

Hello all, My name is Daniel Lowry and I have a 93 Capri Non-Turbo:( I wish it were turbo, but you can't have everything:) Anyway just wanted to say hey. Oh yeah, I've got a Q. I don't have very much low end torque but when I hit 3000 RPM I get a sudden power Boost and at 4000 I am glued to the seat. Any ideas to this phenomenon or is it normal? Just wondering. Bye yall!

I'm Harry
from a suburb of kansas city
am starting my quest for the capri i have wanted since 93.
am stuck with an suv that i hate right now.
if money was no object i would have a collection of all the quirky and under apriciated cars that i tend to fall in love with. and a very large garage for them all.
i think the new capri should stay true to form-
base it on the focus and give it 165 hp standard and 210 in xr2 form. it would be a bargin basement audi TT. and tuners would love the focus base--so many parts available.

In answer to the original question:-
1) Cliff
2) London, England
3) Wanted a Mercury Capri since early nineties and could not believe that one was in this country, albeit from Australia not USA, and up for grabs on on UK Ebay. Bought it instantly and having more fun driving than ever before.
4) Lexus Soarer Supercharged (see www.toyotaimportsforum.com ) and look for Smiffie's Loaded Soarer
5) New Capri - make the parts more available in the UK and a electric soft top would be great for the children  ;)

Hey,

This is James Blakeney II from Concord, NC.

The reason I bought my NA '94 Capri was because I was looking for a second car back in Feb '96.  I was driving a '90 Mustang GT at the time and my dad encourage me to look around.  I will to Charlotte on one of my days off and ended up stopping at the CHRYSLER dealership.  This particular Capri was parked in the used car lot beside a '94 PLY. LASER.  Test drove the car with the top down and was sold.  Dealer let me drive the car for the next days as the financing was being prepared.

My dream car or cars are the new Ford GT, 911 Turbo, and a 69 or 70 Boss Mustang 429(collector car).

This is my 2 cents.

Hey all, I'm new here and this looks like the place to start. I have a dark blue 1991 XR2, w/ boost controller and modified exhaust.

1. Matt Shayka
2. Eastern PA
3. The capri is a fast car, and relatively low in price. Thats what appealed to me.
4. I'd like a DeLorean to cruise around in, its just a cool looking car. Otherwise a muscle car like a Mustang...
5. I would like to see it have a slightly bigger back seat     and a bigger engine. I like the idea of say a twin-turbo V6.

great forums! thanks for being here
