Can we run this, being that it contains lead?

Why not just use e85?
That question being asked I have a feeling we could if you had something like a Megasquirt. It probably would have a negative effect on engine life, and would be really environmentally unsafe(after it kills your cat).

Good to know! My system is catless, though.

So, it cannot be ran in a stock XR2 engine?

It probably shouldnt be run through the standard xr2 engine being as it wasn't designed for leaded, but I don't think that means it wont run it without adjustments to timing and such.

The purpose of lead was to increase octane.  Therefore you could run higher compression or more boost or more timing.  Side effect was it lubricated valve seats and stems preventing the valve from eating into a cast iron head.  Won't hurt the "engine".

Leaded fuel can/will foul the O2 sensor if you're running one. If you're running a wide band that can become expensive quickly.
