Well, I have flyinmiata.com on board to donate some stuff for door prizes and a raffle.  I'm in search of more sponsors so hopefully this will come together.  Just thought I'd throw that update out there.

Except I wasn't planning on renting the 1/8 mile strip, but just the road track part of the complex.  But same difference!  Probably would be pretty competitive.

Yes, budgets     That's the main reason for all my ground work to get some big sponsors to help us out.  I'm obviously not making money with this event thus bringing in companies that want to advertise their name and hopefully the motor plex will cut us a deal as well with all the promotions I'm planning on running.

If you are
interested in donating to help pay for costs let me know. The road
track rental for the day will cost $3500. This does sound high,
however, this will include the full day. Most of the morning you will
get a complete driver's course and training with licensed instructors
from the track. There will be safety personnel provided at the track
and you will get instruction in your car as well during lap time. You
will also receive a MAM license (Mid America Motorplex) which means if
you happen to live anywhere near Omaha, NE or Glenwood, IA(where the
track is), you will be able to race on Friday nights with that license
among other perks. I'm estimating around $135 per person depending on
sponsor help and donations. The orientation class alone is usually
$150. That will include food on Saturday as well. I'm working on
getting shirts designed as well. This will hopefully turn out to be a
big event and well worth the money and time involved of all parties.

Hey Corey! Good deal. I'll be sending a check for $150. If any changes then we can go from there. With our cars being convertibles, are there any problems? At my dragstrip if your car(convertible) is quicker than 13.50 then a rollbar is required. and then at some rallyx events convertibles are not allowed but a removable hardtop in place makes it OK. I looked at their Web site but mention of those possible limits.  Thank you!  Gus

Yea, I understood you Gus     Your boost controller kit hopefully is just about to you by now, if not, should be any time.

Hopefully we get more than what I have see for interested people otherwise this will be pointless.

I really want to come but I need to work out more bugs (loosing coolant, low oil pressure blowing turbos, really bad brakes) before I can commit.

Hey Corey! I did get the kit last week.Thank You. Twice I tried to send you a note and my computer spit it back at me. I just got home 30 mins ago from a five day stay at the hospital. I caught a pneumonia. It almost killed me this time. Pneumonia is what started my congestive heart disease eleven years ago. Anyway,Corey you're not getting much response? If this doesn't come off it will be more than a shame. Hey XR2! Just git your car car running good. Like myself I won't have everything done that I want either. I found out on the first of January that I can;t put off a roof replacement on my house another year.($8800) That sucks up a couple things I wanted to do.  Gus.

Ohh Gus, I hope you are feeling better.  That's nasty stuff!  Yea, as soon as I get these flyers done and start distributing them, I hope to get more response.  I'm also a sponsor on mazdaforum.com so maybe if we can get some of us on there to stir people up on there.
