hey guys update, my timing was all good, car seemd to still be bogging down a bit, i was pretty bummed after my full recon head, fuel pump and cooling system- and was going like a slug, in my fustration after driving back from work, ifilled up wth premium fuel, and proceeded to floor it to nearly seven grand a few times around the block, and something changed suddenly i felt like id gained 20-30hp, boosting clean and hard in every gear,

so yup im in the mood to get modding, im gonna ditch my standard air intake this weekend, saw a few k and n style filters, that looked like they might fit, any body got pics or a thread on the way to go, what diameter filter, and do i need a length of silicone hose?

3in or 3.5in Filter will work at the VAF and Filter.

1.75in is the turbo size you will need for the coupler there.

this website is where i got mine from
http://www.siliconeintakes.com/

you can look at my car build thread. i have had 2 different ones on mine in the last year.

if you want to replace it from the turbo to the filter. rocketman has made some J pipes that will help you out or construct it yourself.

may i recommend an HKS mushroom filter... its initial cost is a bit higher than a regular parts store cone filter.. ,but after you wash and reuse the element about your third time it has paid for itself... ive had the same one for three years, and i dont see any reason to replace it for another 3 really...

as for an intake, take the measurements that gost has given you and make one out of 2.5inch aluminum intercooler piping with silicone boots... everything ive mentioned can be purchased off ebay if you are an ebayer for under 100 bucks and will last you for many years of enjoyment...

also remember the coil mounts to the stock steel airbox, and a new home in the same general area will be needed to be found... the coil only need be grounded to the chassis somewhere to operate properly... good luck and have fun...Joe...RCICustoms...
