lol true story, but I really don't see why it couldn't handle 18. I have the better exhaust, better intake, FMIC, new rings and bearings, rebuilt head, ect.  The only other thing I could see needing to upgrade is the fuel pump and injectors to get a couple extra psi...now that I've stated this someone is going to post and make me sound dumb

The VJ14 won't do 18psi. Neither will an 11/14    16psi is the max reliable amount of boost they can push, any more is overspooling resulting in superheated air and drastically reduced turbo life.

Your bottom end could probably take the 18psi for a while, but you'll need to find a different turbo first. I also can't recommend my chip for anything past 16psi, either

You'll need $10,000 + to push 30psi, lol

The car becomes a totally different beast when you double the boost - Wait til you try it, you'll love it!

Even just taking it up to 10 psi with a high flow exhaust and open intake like on my car makes it an absolute dream.  Everytime I pull out I laugh and say to myself I don't deserve to have something like this.  Opening the exhaust and dialing in a few more PSI made it a whole different animal, even though from the factory it's really no slouch.  Can't imagine how my car is gonna be when I finally get around to my power plans.

So I took my car for a long drive this weekend and noticed it was smoking the same as before again. Pulled over checked coolant and it was low (a few cups).  I drove home without hitting boost at all then no more smoke.  I think it only smokes when the car is at running temp because I drove it to walmart today and hit the boost on the way there and got no smoke (car was still cold) and on the way home I pushed the car at max boost through all 5 gears and still got no smoke.  Thinking I might just need a cooler thermostat.  Right now I have the stock 190.

Edit: I guess I thought it was fixed because I only took it for a test drive around town and parked it till this weekend...

Installing a cooler t-stat won't fix the problem.
