Hey Josh! If you are looking for heavy cable, go to a welding supply house. They'll also have the eye end that bolts to ground and the starter solenoid. the battery end will come from an auto parts house.  Good Luck  Gus

You can pickup wire many places. As well as the ends you'll need.

I'm moving mine to the trunk, most out of the way place for me.

well boys, we used to make our own battery relocation kits , till we found the best batt relo kit isnt made, but found...
go and find you a BMW from the scrapyard and pull its battery and cable from the trunk....

it is much cleaner looking... and the casing on the cable is thicker and more durable...
and the ends are there and a mounting bracket as well...ill take somemore pics soon ...be goood ...JOE

here ya go guys, i went and took theese this morning to show ya what i did...

i used a cable from a 325 bmw .. it works great.
dont forget to put a stereo fuse or high watt breaker from a car audio place... just incase thares a short it will pop the big fuse rather than starting a fire ...

if you look at the second picture you will see the stereo fuse i used in the ground cable...

its just a rockford fosgate stereo fuse for 4 guage wire..
but if thare was a wrench or other tool to fall in the engine compartment and touch the batt terminal and ground of some sorts that fuse goes poof.... rather than sparks and welding of your favorite wrench

i been researching this as well. but i am going to put mine under my bubble cover in the middle of the car to help out on the weight. i already have a 2Ga wire running there for the stereo set up so i just need to get the box and add the ground. i passed mine through the big grommet at the passenger side floor. plenty of space to fit in. There are a ton of kits out there to relocate the battery for about 50 bucks with sealed aluminum cases. you just need to run a line vacuum hose out of the car for venting and getting a optima battery is the best as well.

Hey Guys!  Those factory pull-outs are great. Thanks for the ideas, I'm old school. Gost! I woud stay away from an aluminum box and go with a fitted plastic box.  Gus

I would not run an in cabin battery unless it is seal gel cell battery.

Trunk is the best place besides under the hood that is easily reached in my opinion.

i never drive with the top up, phoenix....had the car since Jan and only had the top up 3 days and it was all last week due to some rain. if you get a sealed box and then vent it out of the car everything will be fine. look at some of the cars in the 80's that had the battery's in the cabin. Vette's did it and so the the RX-7's with normal batteries. located behind the seats in a compartment. i had a 83 RX that i never had any problems with..well that's a lie the carb on that thing was terrible to work on....either way. i rather have the trunk space in the rear. there is plenty of room in the back seat even with some subs...
