Well honestly there is no need to lower the compression for any turbo setup. The allready lower then 8:1 is low enough to safely run high boost levels. The only problem with low compression and a big turbo is spool up ability. That's where a compound or sequential system would be handy. Or even better a single dual scroll turbo like the one I'm using for my build. As for making huge hp numbers in a fwd, I've seen a couple 600-900hp fwd civics running sub 10s in the quarter. Tractions not an issue with proper drivetrain strong axles and some fat tires. On that note our trannys suck and there's next to no aftermarket world for our cars so what can we do far a stronger trans??? On the piston note don't worry about lowering the comp. and I wouldent worry about raising it a little and still being 100% safe.
