http://corksport.com/86-89-mazda-323/323-other-engine-parts-and-power-mods/

does that picture look familiar to you ???

so i guess the first rod wasnt aftermarket. it is a BPD rod....mystery solved...    ..Joe

Hey Guys! The carillo rods are the ultimate but as you know, very pricey. The ETD rods you mention,Rocket are made in china I believe and if I recall there were negative comments in that forum run by trolls. Not sure I would a whole lot of seriousness from there. The guys in the other GTX forum would be the ones to listen to, as some of them do roadrace their cars and put their cars through a lot of hell. When I was in my kid days like you two, we would grind the side beams smooth, then polish the side beams and then have them shot-peened. This strengthened the rods. I used to run my two-liter pinto in auto-crossing over 8000rpm all the time, it never let go in the lower-end.  Gus  PS Joe, I tried to Email you but with-out success. I'll try to get a friend help me to access you. Maybe you can open it up if you Email me at mustbegus@yahoo.com
