looks like fun
-
bump
-
Anyone else looking to go? I'm going to try to get the GTXR2 road worthy enough to make it down there at the end of the month. 2500 miles (http://smile.gif)
-
I'll bet if you offer anyone who shows, a ride in the GTXR2, more people might show up.......!!
Hell, that's the only reason I'm going.......!

-
I figured my state would be considered "deep south" but I guess around these woods Alabama is. :D
-
Texas is Deep South, too..........So there is no reason why you can't go right?? :D
-
If I have my clutch and wideband installed by then you will see me there. Dont want to show up with a slipping clutch.
-
pfft, mine's been slipping for 3 years
-
I want to be able to have fun on the way there and a slipping clutch would hinder that from happening.
-
Ask russ what a slipping clutch means to him ;-D
-
LOTS OF SMOKE!!!!!!!
-
Says there will be a burnout contest :( crap. cant do that anymore lol
-
yeah you can. do it DSM style and look for a large patch of grass and take it to 5500rpm and dump the clutch. :D
-
Thats pulling the pin and letting the handle fly on this grenade of a transmission :/
I would kind of prefer it to last a little bit because its hella fun to drive now (http://smile.gif)
-
Rocketman -
You can use the Super Roo in the burnout contest, if ya want! No worries!
--R
-
Hey Russ! Why worry! From Josh's comments , it's already burn't out. Gus
-
That's my point! I'll bring a new clutch with me, and after Rocket destroys the current one in the burnout contest, he can swap them out!
-
he burnt it out big time when me and him raced
-
well in that case Rocket can throw mine in the burn out contest as well. I will bring my clutch kit and some tools. (http://graemlins/big-wink.gif)
-
I just read on the Yahoo board that this meet has been cancelled. (http://graemlins/big-down.gif)
Maybe next year........
-

-
I was looking forward to meeting up with you! We'll figure something out.......
--Russ
-
i suggest russ plans an emergency macg 2009 part 2
-
OK Grant. I'll bite, why does Russ need to plan an emergency Mid-America Capri Gathering??? Drink much?
-
Hey Matt you know you have a impulse that could use some attention.........
found a GTX local for $2800 with a balanced and blueprinted engine, upgraded turbo, front mount, and all paperwork. Tempting at the moment
-
Yeah I know I need to work on it... I will probably throw a couple hours into it this week. We're supposed to have a heatwave this week in the low 60's which is a lot better than unseasonal snow
I think I saw that GTX FS somewhere...sounds like a good deal. What shape is the transmission?
-
the weather here has been great!! clear sky's and 70. The wife and I went and drove the capri around for about an hour just to enjoy the weather.
From what the seller told me the tranny is perfect and does not grind or have any issues. He just put a new clutch in it and he bought it from the original owner who actually turned out to be the one doing the mods.
He said he has all the paperwork to it and that its on its 3rd built motor (kinda scary huh?) and that it runs like a top. I seen it on the street one day and he was haulin balls in it to pass some people and hop on the highway. I chased him down and followed him to the gas station just to see if it was the one for sale and sure enough it was.
The a/c was ice cold and the only thing I seen wrong with it other than a gay narrowband air/fuel gauge, was it had a oil leak somewhere that was hitting the exhaust and causing it to smoke at the back of the engine. He said it was the oil sending unit but didnt seem to knowledgable about the car besides being "built".
said it lays down 250 awhp at 14 psi. I was curious to know what ecm or tune he was running.
-
Matt, if u want you can come out to my place... i have spare bedroom that needs to be occupied. Also could use your help with my Buick and figuring out why my Capri burns a quart per month, i think my turbo is dying.
-
"only thing I seen wrong with it other than a gay narrowband air/fuel gauge,"
How did you know it was "Gay"? Did it offer to take you in back and give some lip service?
-
Did it have rainbows and unicorns?
-
actually drbob the narrowband does have a bunch of "gay" rainbow colors. so it does fit the "gay narrowband" profile (http://graemlins/oh.gif)
